Monica (M): Hey, I’m Monica.

Olivia (O): And I’m Olivia. Welcome to another episode of AWeber Quick Tips.

M: But it’s not just any episode…

O: …it’s our 10th episode!

O: And to celebrate, we’re giving you the inside scoop on what goes into filming Quick Tips: from how we plan each episode to our on-camera tips.

M: Plus an exclusive look at footage that didn’t quite make the cut.

O: Think of it as your all-access pass to all the fun that goes down at AWeber headquarters.

M: So without further adieu, let’s get started!

The Pre-Production Process

M: Welcome guys! Allow us to show you around.

O: This is where all of the magic happens. Right now I’m looking at our recent blog posts to get some ideas for our next shoot.

M: We like to use topics that are relevant to what our audience is most interested in at the time.

O: So when it comes to actually writing the script, we try to make sure that we’re being as conversational as possible – getting to the point while still creating an experience that is fun and enjoyable to watch.

M: Now on to filming…

On-Camera Tips

O: It’s important to be your most natural self on camera – it’s easy to look stiff or uncomfortable. I always go into shoots with a little extra pep – caffeine helps – because I know it will translate well on film.

M: It’s also important to talk slow when you’re reading a script or repeating lines. It’s easy for words to get jumbled together.

O: We remedy this by adding a transcript of the script to the bottom of our blog posts for viewers to revisit if they need to catch up.

O: We want to make sure that our viewers are getting the most out of Quick Tips – time is a valuable thing! So we always iterate on previous episodes to see what worked and what didn’t.

M: For example, the pilot episode of Quick Tips featured a poster frame of an image created by our awesome team of designers. But for the second episode, we decided to test an image featuring yours truly [points to self & Olivia].

O: The result? The second episode with the new frame had more than double the plays than the first.

M: And that’s only one of the ways we tweaked our videos. It’s a learning experience for sure – and we welcome feedback with open arms.

O: So if there’s ever something you want to see, or if you have tips for us, send us a Tweet or leave a comment and let us know! We love to see what our fans are buzzing about.

M: And that’s all we’ve got for today! But before we go, we have a special treat for you.

O: Sorry – it’s not cupcakes. As promised, stay tuned til the end for a look at our not-so-finest moments, pulled from the Quick Tips archive.

M: And remember, you can always connect with us on social or subscribe to the AWeber blog to get the latest Quick Tips episodes, digital marketing tips and news sent straight to your inbox.

O: Thanks again for joining us and we’ll see you back here in two weeks.
